Tourism development and promotion
The promotion and development of tourism, in the United Kingdom is dealt with by organisations within the public sector, such as Visit Britain and Visit Wales. Different governments within the public sector in the UK are responsible for providing support for the tourism industry and national level. Different governments have responsibilities for areas or tourism. An example of a department would be Transport, they look after aviation, roads and railways and the London underground. The department of Children, Schools and Families have responsibilities for sector skills council and training organisations. The department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs are responsible for issues affecting the country side, wildlife and other issues that affect the environment.

But just because these two dominate the industry doesn't mean to say that the other small businesses need to be forgotten about.
